Edgewood School is a new, ambitious and caring residential school that provides care and education for young people aged 7 – 16 with severe and complex communication and learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviours. The onsite children’s home is modern and vibrant and can accommodate up to 12 young people.
Due to internal promotion, we are seeking a Deputy Care Manager to support the Registered Manager to lead the setting and to continue to develop the provision to its full potential. The school offers fully individualised and inclusive education for day and residential children; you will ensure the care team work closely with education and therapy colleagues to provide a seamless service for children.
This senior role offers a fantastic opportunity in a stunning new provision, where you will be supported by a dedicated staff team. In return, you will support them to develop and work with complex pupil behaviours. You will have autonomy and the flexibility to share and implement new creative ideas to further develop the service. You will also be a champion for children’s rights and be able to hear their voice to ensure their needs are continually met.
You should have at least 2 years supervisory experience and 2 years experience working with complex young people, such as those with a Learning Disability, Autism and behaviours that challenge, and in supporting staff to do so. You should have some care inspection experience alongside a relevant Level 3 qualification and have achieved (or be willing to achieve) the L5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare.
