Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:15am – 3:15pm – 37.5 hrs per week

Salary: £14.31 per hour dependant on qualifications and experience.

About Us: Rowden House School, part of West Midlands Learning Campus, is a well-established service provider offering education and care for young people aged 11-19 years old with moderate to severe learning difficulties, some of whom are on the autistic spectrum and at times may present challenging behaviour.

The Role: As a Cook at Rowden House School you will assist the Chef Manager to provide a quality meal service to staff, residents and visitors. This will include food preparation, general kitchen cleaning and washing up. You will cater to any special dietary requirements and ensure a hygienic work environment at all times. In the absence of the Chef Manager you will need to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, including production of the food, food safety, any ordering needed and management of the staff.

Essential Criteria:

  • Professional Cookery experience necessary
  • Level 2 Food Safety Certificate
  • Knowledge of vegetarian food and special diets
  • Able to work on your own
  • Well organised
  • Good sense of humour
  • A good communicator
