The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer, offering exceptional beverage service to Hard Rock Casino Bristol guests and maintaining excellent guest relations.
Responsibilities
- Creates an atmosphere that encourages guests to visit Hard Rock Casino Bristol for gaming entertainment.
- Builds and retains guest relations, acting as a mentor to team members while delivering superior guest service.
- Accepts, processes, and fulfills customer drink orders.
- Greets each guest with outstanding customer service and offers drink and food specials.
- Totals bills, presents the check, collects settlement, and processes payment.
- Reconciles transactions, cashes out, and maintains a balanced bank each shift.
- Gets familiar with menu items, food allergens, and beverage lists to assist guests accurately.
- Prepares cocktails per recipes, using correct tools and glassware.

- Develops new cocktail recipes when directed by management, combining unique flavour profiles and presentation.
- Helps guests select food and beverages, presenting menus, offering cocktails and entrees, and answering preparation questions.
- Serves food and beverages ensuring timely, complete, and accurate service.
- Serves meals following established rules and etiquette in a casual dining setting.
- Maintains bartop/bar table, removing dirty dishes, replenishing utensils, refilling beverages, and addressing guest needs.
- Processes payments per POS and cash handling procedures.
- Performs last call.
- Keeps bank variance within standard limits and closes all checks.
- Maintains bar inventory at par levels and communicates ordering needs to management.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with all staff and the culinary team to maximise guest satisfaction.
- Adheres to food and beverage policies and State Liquor Laws.
- Maintains a clean station at all times and promotes positive customer relations.
- Responsible for the receipt of monies and settlement of guests' checks.
- Completes other departmental duties and assignments as directed by management.
Qualifications
- Secondary school degree preferred and/or at least 2 years of hospitality service experience.
- At least 1 year of high-volume bartending experience.
- Extensive knowledge of beer, liquor, wine, and their history and composition.
- Ability to demonstrate spirit differentiation and drink preparation techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills and a positive, friendly, outgoing attitude.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Proficiency in English; additional languages preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Virginia Lottery requirements.
- Must successfully pass background check.
- Must possess a valid Food Handlers Card and Liquor License.
- Must pass drug screening.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts.
Knowledge
- Basic numerical operations (counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing).
- Customer service skills including patience, tact, and diplomacy.
- Knowledge of reporting and selling cigars/tobacco and providing cigar service.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a high-volume environment.
- Knowledge of Player's Club marketing.
