Our client is an Outstanding residential care provider, looking to expand its team with passionate, caring, and motivated individuals who are committed to making a difference in the lives of young people. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a supportive, professional environment focused on the well-being of children aged 8-17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
As a Residential Support Worker, you will be integral to providing day-to-day care and support for young people. You will work closely with a dedicated team to ensure the children’s needs are met, advocating for them and helping them to thrive in a safe and structured environment., * Day-to-day Care: Assist young people with daily activities, including appointments, education, cooking, cleaning, and recreational activities.

Promote Positive Choices: Encourage young people to make positive decisions and celebrate milestones in their development.

Safeguarding and Support: Build strong, trusting relationships with the children, providing emotional support, particularly during periods of crisis.

Record Keeping: Maintain high standards of documentation, including daily logs, care plans, and communication with social workers, mental health professionals, and other stakeholders.

Team Collaboration: Work alongside colleagues to develop and implement timetables, set boundaries, and ensure consistency in care.

Advocacy: Act as an advocate for young people, ensuring their voices are heard and their views are taken into account in care planning.

Compliance and Standards: Prepare for internal and external audits and inspections, ensuring the home operates in line with Ofsted standards.

Leadership: Support the Registered Manager in maintaining high standards of care, ensuring sensitivity, dignity, and respect for both children and staff.

On-Call Duties: Participate in the on-call rota and perform sleep-in shifts as required.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year in residential childcare (ideal but not essential).

NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) (preferred but not essential).

Full UK driving licence (required).

Ability to demonstrate empathy, resilience, and emotional intelligence in a care setting.
