YPO in Wakefield (WF2 0XE) is seeking an HR Support Officer on a temporary basis, paying £14.00–£18.42 per hour, starting 16 June 2026. This is a first‑point‑of‑contact HR administration role supporting both HR and payroll functions across a busy, fast‑paced environment. You will manage HR queries through the People Portal, email, and in person, while supporting recruitment and onboarding activity including job adverts, shortlisting, pre‑employment checks, and contracts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining employee records and HR systems (starters, leavers, and changes)
- Processing payroll data and resolving payroll queries
- Administering employee benefits and HR policies
- Producing HR reports covering absence and workforce data
- Supporting HR projects, audits, and policy updates
- Providing general administrative assistance including note‑taking in meetings
The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion. Good communication and customer service skills are essential, along with IT proficiency across MS Office and HR systems. Knowledge of GDPR is required; HR or payroll knowledge is desirable. You should be educated to NVQ Level 3 as a minimum; CIPD Level 3 is desirable.
