Middlesbrough Borough Council is seeking a Temporary Accommodation Broker Co-Ordinator to join its Housing Solutions Team on a temporary contract running from 7 September to 7 December 2026, based at Fountain Court, TS1 9FT. The rate is £17.80 per hour. A basic DBS is essential.

The council operates a dedicated multi-disciplinary homelessness, housing, and domestic abuse service supporting people with complex and overlapping needs. In this role you will manage all requests for interim and temporary accommodation (TA) on behalf of the Housing Solutions Team, leading the brokerage function end to end.

Key responsibilities include negotiating and arranging placements with commissioned providers; building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external partners; tracking and monitoring placements to maximise use of available housing stock; processing TA payments accurately within the CDP system; submitting housing benefit claims for each TA episode; and managing the onboarding of new providers, ensuring compliance and ongoing review of documentation.

You will also act as first point of contact for providers, monitor capacity and best value, and liaise with finance regarding commissioned services.

All case recording must be trauma-informed and in line with council policies, relevant legislation, and government reporting requirements.
