Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a Wellbeing & Occupational Health Advisor (admin-focused) to join its People Services team on a temporary basis from 22 June to 13 September 2026, based in Swinton, Manchester (M27 8US). Rate: £15.88–£17.82 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • This is a critical coordination role acting as the link between managers and external occupational health providers, with a heavy emphasis on administration, data accuracy, and process management rather than strategic advisory work.
  • Responsibilities include managing and processing incoming OH referrals, coordinating with external providers and distributing reports to managers, maintaining accurate data across multiple systems (including iTrent), handling manager queries, and supporting health surveillance scheduling and tracking.

Ideal Candidate

  • The ideal candidate will be a strong administrator with experience in fast‑paced environments, highly detail‑oriented, and confident using multiple systems simultaneously.
  • The applicant should be a clear communicator able to challenge managers where needed, comfortable handling sensitive wellbeing and mental health cases with discretion, and experienced in managing competing priorities.

Desirable Background

  • Desirable background includes admin experience in healthcare, HR, or occupational health, familiarity with confidential data handling, and experience within complex public‑sector or emergency‑services organisations.

Hybrid Working Arrangement

  • Hybrid working of approximately 2–3 days in the office applies after onboarding. Parking is available on site. An early July start is preferred to allow for handover.
