The London Borough of Sutton is seeking a Community Support Worker to join the Support and Inclusion Team, based at the Sutton Inclusion Centre, Northspur Road, SM1 2BF.

This is a temporary contract starting 1 September 2026, paying £16.83-£21.85 per hour via Prism.

The team provides a specialist community support service for adults with profound learning disabilities and complex needs, including those with complex physical and health needs and/or low to medium needs that challenge mainstream services.

The service focuses on helping people become active participants in their local community, making best use of local resources and networks to maximise independence and reduce reliance on specialist provision.

Key responsibilities include delivering support tasks under the direction of senior staff, dealing with routine issues and escalating when necessary, and allocating straightforward tasks to more junior colleagues.

You will also be responsible for accurate financial record-keeping in line with Council procedures.

Applicants should have at least six months of relevant paid or unpaid experience supporting people with complex needs, such as learning difficulties or complex health needs.

An NVQ Level 2 or equivalent is desirable, or a willingness to work towards the qualification.

A person-centred approach and awareness of healthcare needs - including epilepsy, dysphagia, postural management, and aqua therapy - are essential.
