Denbighshire County Council is seeking a Receptionist to join its Corporate Support Service (People) based at County Hall, Ruthin. This is a temporary role paying £14.13–£18.29 per hour, starting 8 September 2026.

Reporting to the Service Improvement Manager, you will provide front-of-house reception and greeting duties alongside routine clerical, administrative, and financial support to customers, visitors, and staff. Day-to-day responsibilities include answering telephone and face-to-face enquiries, copy-typing and word-processing, maintaining manual and computerised records, sorting and distributing mail, organising meetings (room bookings, travel and accommodation), and managing office stationery stock.

Candidates must hold 5 GCSEs at grades A–C (or equivalent) including Maths and English, and demonstrate strong IT skills across word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Good numeracy, literacy, note-taking, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work constructively as part of a team and maintain confidentiality at all times. Welsh language skills are essential at Level 4 under Welsh Language Standards. Experience of working in an admin, clerical, or finance environment is required; experience within local government is desirable.
