An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Adults Social Worker to join the Adult Access Team at Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council. This role focuses on screening, triage and proportionate assessment of new referrals to Adult Social Care, gathering information from individuals, families and partner agencies to inform strengths-based decision-making. You will identify and manage safeguarding concerns, applying local threshold guidance and making recommendations regarding Section 42 enquiries where appropriate, while applying relevant legislation including the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005. The role involves providing advice and signposting to promote independence, assessing risk, liaising with health, provider and voluntary sector partners, and contributing to duty functions within the Access Team. Candidates must be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with strong assessment and safeguarding skills and the ability to manage a busy duty and access workload. This is a well-paid locum assignment running from September to December 2026.
