Southwark Council is seeking an experienced Interim Operational Lead to drive the delivery of Person Centred Fire Risk Assessments (PCFRAs) and Residential Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (RPEEPs) in line with the Fire Safety (Residential Evacuation Plans) (England) Regulations 2025. Based at 160 Tooley Street, SE1, with approximately two days per week in the office; the role is otherwise peripatetic, attending residents’ flats across residential settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering and overseeing PCFRAs and RPEEPs
  • Managing the full lifecycle from assessment through to implementation and review of mitigation measures
  • Ensuring legislative compliance and maintaining audit‑ready processes
  • Carrying out quality assurance, including post‑installation checks of life safety measures
  • Working collaboratively with Building Safety Managers, Fire Risk Assessors, Housing teams, and the London Fire Brigade

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have proven experience delivering Person Centred Fire Risk Assessments, a strong technical understanding of fire safety in residential buildings, the ability to lead operational delivery and manage risk effectively, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and a recognised fire safety technical qualification. A Basic DBS is required.

Compensation & Contract

Rate: £287.13–£400.00 per day. Start date: 27 July 2026. Contract role via Prism.
