Overview

Semester Resourcing is seeking an experienced Registered Manager for Mapleton Road Care Home, a residential service run by the London Borough of Waltham Forest that supports people over the age of 65 living with dementia.

This day‑rate interim role is based in Walthamstow (E4) and pays £246.00–£323.50 per day, starting 20 July 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all day‑to‑day operations of the home, ensuring high‑quality, person‑centred care that meets CQC standards and nationally recognised best practice.
  • Manage a staff team and oversee budgets, recruitment, occupancy, health and safety, and overall performance and reputation of the home.
  • Ensure residents’ physical, emotional and social needs are met with compassion.
  • Provide operational management cover to Provider Services teams as directed by the Head of Service.
  • Participate in a managers’ out‑of‑hours on‑call rota.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager within a residential care home for older people.
  • Strong working knowledge of CQC requirements and relevant legislation.
  • Experience of safeguarding, quality assurance, partnership working and presenting performance reports.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care or equivalent.

Requirements

  • Availability to start on 20 July 2026.
  • Inclusion in the L1 database, a satisfactory enhanced DBS check that includes the barred list.
