London Borough of Haringey is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Procurement Officer to shape and deliver the Council's procurement strategy, ensuring high-quality, value-driven commissioning of goods, services and works aligned to Borough priorities.

In this pivotal interim role, you will lead a strategic procurement function overseeing significant spend of c.£500m+, providing expert commercial advice to senior leaders, elected members and key governance bodies. You will drive innovation, strengthen financial governance, and embed a strong business partnering approach across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading the development and delivery of strategic procurement and commissioning activity
  • Providing expert commercial advice and assurance at senior leadership and board level
  • Managing and developing a high‐performing procurement service
  • Overseeing major programmes including the London Construction Programme and Dynamic Marketplace
  • Driving value for money, effective governance and customer‐focused outcomes
  • Supporting insourcing initiatives and centralised procurement services
  • Building collaborative partnerships across local, regional and national networks
Qualifications

Must hold MCIPS or equivalent experience, with a strong track record of managing a large public sector procurement function and a comprehensive understanding of public sector procurement regimes and legislation.

Compensation

Rate: £400.00–£549.71 per day. Start date: 8 June 2026. Location: Station Road, London N22 7TY.
