Semester Recruitment is sourcing a Centre Assistant for the London Borough of Haringey, based at the Civic Centre, High Road, London N22 8LE. This is a temporary role paying £15.03–£19.47 per hour, starting 22 June 2026.

Reporting to the Head of Centre, you will carry out domestic, cleaning, and premises duties across an Under Fives Centre, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for children and all users throughout the day. Responsibilities include:

  • Vacuuming and floor cleaning
  • Toilet and bathroom cleaning
  • Operating laundry machines
  • Assisting the cook with the dishwasher

You will also support childcare staff in the general care, activities, and comforting of young children — including assisting at mealtimes, accompanying outings, and supervising indoor and outdoor activities under the direction of nursery officers and teachers.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate cleaning experience, an ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues, and a commitment to health and safety and equal opportunities. The ability to work as part of a team is essential.
