This is a permanent position based in Leyland near Preston in a very well established children's home. This position is full time and permanent. A DBS on the update service would be a massive advantage.

Semester Recruitment specialise in supporting young people ages 5-18 in supported living, semi-independent accommodation and children's residential homes. We are currently looking for Support and Youth Workers to provide ongoing support to Care Leavers in the area. Great flexibility with shifts and the rotas. Rates from £12.75 to £15 an hour and £60 sleep depending on experience. Shifts vary from days, nights, and some full day sleeps. Our client is a leading provider of care to children and young people in the area and they are currently recruiting for Support Workers. Shifts are typically 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am. This is supporting young people aged between 5-18, you will be helping to increase their independence skills.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High standard of general education
  • NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care - Children and Young People (CCYP) or equivalent
  • Willingness to undertake further training
  • Current full driving licence with business insurance preferable

Job Purpose

To be responsible for the provision of support for vulnerable people (service users) for the company.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • To assist the young person's allocated social worker in the delivery of the service:
    • Provide transport/escort to the young person as directed in line with care plans
    • Conduct welcome and induction for young people
    • Ongoing assessments of service users’ needs
    • Provide ongoing support and monitoring of service users
    • Assist in welfare and NHS issues
    • Preparation of reports
    • Arrange appointments with various partner agencies
    • Maintaining regular contact with young people
    • Informing customers of support groups
    • Assist move-on of service users

Some shifts may also be 24 hours (sleepovers), great flexibility and 2-3 days a week would be full time hours. Excellent company with a great unit.
