Thurrock Council is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to provide high-level, proactive and confidential support to the Chief Executive at their Grays, Essex offices.
This is a demanding and rewarding role at the heart of the Council’s leadership, acting as a trusted coordination point between the Chief Executive, Members, the Senior Leadership Team, external stakeholders and partner organisations. You will ensure the smooth running of the Chief Executive’s office, supporting decision-making, governance, stakeholder engagement and organisational leadership activities.
Working under the direction of the Executive Support Team Leader, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy, managing complex and competing demands with sound judgement, political awareness and absolute discretion. You will contribute to the continuous improvement and resilience of executive support services across the organisation.
The role is based at New Road, Grays, Essex, RM17 6SL. The day rate is £145.04–£190.73, with a proposed start date of 17 August 2026.
