Interim Assistant Legal Counsel – Royal Holloway, University of London
Location: Egham, Surrey (TW20 0EX). The role runs from 15 June 2026 and is paid at a day rate of £350.00–£462.40.
Overview
This is a contract-support focused position providing practical legal assistance across the university.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts for procurement, partnerships and estates.
- Advise on contractual risk and available options and lead negotiations where required.
- Maintain accurate contract records and a central agreements register.
- Undertake legal research and monitor regulatory and sector developments.
- Liaise with academic and professional services colleagues to progress matters efficiently.
Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer with a minimum of one year’s post-qualified experience in general commercial/contract or employment law.
- Strong drafting skills, excellent legal research ability, close attention to detail.
- First-class written and oral communication skills.
