Trafford Council requires a 6-month agency social worker AMHP for out-of-hours and bank holidays. Candidates should have EDT experience and be able to cover Children's and Adults' mental health cases. The post will require driving, and it is initially hybrid (office-based then from home).

Job Description:

Trafford Council is looking to recruit an experienced Level 3 agency Social Worker who is also an Approved Mental Health Practitioner to join our Emergency Duty Team. The post holder will provide a responsive, emergency social work service outside of office hours across Trafford. The team offers social work assistance on an emergency basis to vulnerable individuals, including families at risk, people with disabilities, and those with acute mental health issues, acting as an Approved Mental Health Practitioner. You will join a team of experienced practitioners responsible for ensuring statutory functions are met out of hours for Adult and Children Social Care, including the duties of an Approved Mental Health Practitioner. You will need to stay updated with relevant regulations, policies, and legislation related to Adult and Children Social Care and the Mental Health Act. You will have access to a regular AHMP forum.

  • Enhanced DBS/Update service
  • References for the last 5 years of employment
