Position: Social Worker – Connecting Families Team
We are seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join our Connecting Families Team. This team focuses on supporting children to achieve legal permanence through discharge of Care Orders or granting of SGO’s with their connected carers.
The role involves working with children in care, either placed at home with their parents under Placement with Parent Regulations or living with connected carers via Fostering Standards. You will support children through statutory procedures, update assessments, and complete court documents to secure legal permanence. The caseload will be approximately 20-22 children.
You will receive support through monthly case supervision, personal supervision, and regular guidance from the team’s social work consultant. The office is based in Pity Me, Durham, with an expectation to be office-based 1-2 days per week for team meetings and collaboration.
Requirements:
- A professional qualification in social work and experience working with children
- Social Work England registration
- Enhanced DBS/Update service
- References covering the last 5 years of employment
