Job Title: Social Worker – Adoption & Recruitment

Please note: This is a Long Term Temporary position starting ASAP.

This role is within the regional adoption agency, Together for Adoption.

Position Details:

• Part-time, 4 days a week (29.6 hours)

About Together for Adoption:

We serve the regions of Wigan, Warrington, Halton, St Helens, and Cheshire West and Chester. We seek an experienced social worker in fostering or adoption to support recruitment, assessment, and ongoing support of prospective adopters. Responsibilities include conducting initial and comprehensive assessments, supporting adopters through approval, matching, placement, and until the adoption order is granted. The role also involves attending recruitment campaigns, providing duty cover, delivering information sessions, and training programs.

Main Responsibilities:

• Build strong relationships with Locality teams and partner agencies.
• Provide social work services to children and families.
• Recruit and assess prospective adopters.
• Deliver training to adopters pre and post approval.
• Support adopters in meeting the needs of looked-after children.
• Assess needs and risks, and deliver appropriate services.
• Promote preventative social work and childcare.
• Undertake child protection duties as directed.
• Attend court as necessary.
• Implement childcare policies related to adopters.
• Act as duty officer as assigned.

Additional Expectations:

• Provide high-quality, responsive social work interventions.
• Follow service policies and procedures.
• Supervised by the Practice Manager.
• Participate in workload management, team meetings, and activities.
• Manage a varied caseload and undertake projects and development work.
