An Independent Reviewing Officer is required at Darlington Borough Council to cover a permanent team member who is seconded for 6 months. Based at the Town Hall, Darlington (DL1 5QT), some home working is possible.
You will chair a range of statutory meetings, primarily Child Protection Conferences and Children in Our Care Reviews. All CP Conferences are held face to face in Darlington.
The successful candidate must be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with a minimum of 5 years post‑qualification experience. Experience chairing statutory looked‑after children reviews and child protection conferences is essential.
Rate: £34.45 per hour. Start date: 13 July 2026.
