Location: Liverpool.

Contract: Full time, 37.5 hours a week, temporary ongoing basis typically around a month.

Hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Salary: £16–£17+ per hour plus mileage covered at 55p per mile. If permanent, salary will be approximately £27,000, dependent on experience and level 3 qualification.

Driving: Must have a Full UK Driving Licence with Business Insurance. You will need to drive and have business use on your insurance to travel to different places of work.

Job Purpose

To provide support for vulnerable young people (care leavers) between the ages of 16-18, ensuring they have the necessary provisions and support in place for when they reach 18.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Young person’s allocated Social Worker in the delivery of the service.
  • Provide transport/escort to the young person as directed in line with care plans.
  • Conduct welcome and induction for Young people.
  • Ongoing assessments of Service Users’ needs.
  • Provide ongoing support and monitoring of Service Users.
  • Assist in welfare and NHS issues.
  • Preparation of reports.
  • Arrange appointments with various partner agencies.
  • Maintain regular contact with Service Users.
  • Inform Service Users of support groups.
  • Assist Move‑On of Service Users.
  • Accurately record, create, maintain and update electronic records in respect of Service Users.
  • Prepare for and attend meetings as required or directed.
  • Provide mediation to Service Users as required and/or directed.
  • Effectively use IT packages to support the work of the company.
  • Work effectively and cooperatively across multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Observe and maintain strict confidentiality in respect of Service Users, Clients and Company.
  • Pro‑actively assist in the development of policies and procedures of the Company.
  • Report any housing issues to the Services Department and assist, where required, in the resolution of any defects.
  • Undertake On‑Call duties as directed.
  • Participate, where required, in office reception duties.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience supporting young people and their families.
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential with Business Insurance.
  • Completed property inspections.
  • Support young people to develop independence skills.
  • Manage diary and work closely with permanent staff.
  • Complete detailed reports.
  • Current online DBS is required for quick start.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High standard of general education.
  • Preferable: NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care – Children and Young People (CCYP) or equivalent.
  • Willingness to undertake further training.
  • Experience of working within a similar setting; preference for NVQ3 Children & Young People Workforce or a similar qualification.
  • Business use of driving licence permitted for travel to different places of work.
