Sefton MBC is seeking a Centre Administrator to join the Communities Division at The Atkinson, Lord Street, Southport, PR8 1DB. This is a temporary role via Prism, paying £13.88-£18.05 per hour, working 36 hours per week from 31 August 2026.

Reporting to the Principal Manager of Museum and Galleries, you will provide day-to-day administrative and financial support across programmes, fundraising, and income generation at The Atkinson arts and cultural centre.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Financial administration and reporting using I Want Finance and Agresso
  • Monitoring income and expenditure
  • Cash handling and banking in line with Council procedures
  • Managing petty cash as an imprest holder
  • Supporting venue hire administration including corporate bookings
  • Administering donations, grants, and expenditure for The Atkinson Development Trust
  • Data input for utility usage and billing
  • Providing general administrative and clerical support using IT systems and office equipment

Please note: The Atkinson operates on some evenings and weekends, and the post holder will be required to work flexibly under the site’s TOIL arrangement.

Essential requirements:

  • Solid office administration background with standard IT systems and software
  • Financial management and cash-handling experience
  • Ability to balance conflicting demands and work to deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A good standard of general education
