Finance Business Support Officer

Bromley Council is seeking a Finance Business Support Officer to join the Central Placements team based at Churchill Court, Bromley, BR1 1AS.

This is a temporary contract paying £116.86–£153.67 per day, starting 27 July 2026.

The role centres on the administrative and financial management of placement, commissioning, and contract payments across both Adults and Children’s social care services.

You will ensure all payments are processed in accordance with the Council’s Financial Regulations and audit requirements, verify funding authorisations prior to invoice payment, and maintain accurate records throughout.

Responsibilities

  • Produce regular budgetary monitoring reports for Service Accountants to support financial projections.
  • Assist the Finance Team Leader with end‑of‑year and accounts closure processes, including identifying creditors and accruals.
  • Process invoices received by the Central Placements team.
  • Submit requests for outstanding funding agreements.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Team Leader as required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a local government or public‑sector finance/admin environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Familiarity with financial regulations and invoice processing within a social care commissioning or placements context (advantageous).
