Birmingham Children’s Trust is seeking a Social Work Assistant (SWA) to support qualified social workers in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and young people across Birmingham. Based in Aston (B6 4DU), you will hold an allocated casework role, collecting and analysing information, completing statutory assessments, and providing practical day‑to‑day support to children and families.
You will liaise with professionals and partner agencies to ensure joined‑up service delivery, and maintain accurate case records and reports in line with statutory and organisational requirements. The role is supervised by a Team Manager or Senior Practitioner and is subject to an enhanced DBS/ISA check. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
