Purchasing Assistant
Reporting to Lead Procurement Manager
Location: Wilton – Teesside
Salary: Negotiable – Whilst all salaries are graded, Sembcorp are keen to attract, retain and develop the highest calibre of colleague. The company also offer a market leading benefits package and annual bonus.

Purpose of Role
Support the procurement team in sourcing and procuring goods and services to support the UK operations.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
· To source suppliers
· Negotiate prices with Suppliers
· Place Purchase Orders with suppliers
· Effectively organise workload to meet the demands of the business.
· Contribute towards meeting procurement objectives and targets.
· Work flexibly to meet the demands of the business.
· Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues in the procurement team
· Develop and maintain good Supplier relationships
· To develop and maintain good customer relationships with internal stakeholders
· Ensure that all purchase orders contain all relevant and correct commercial information
· Ensure that the purchase to pay process is followed by end users in a compliant manner
· To process all correctly submitted purchase requisitions within service level targets.
· Make best use of available technology for sourcing products and services
· To deputise for Buyers where required.
· Maintain Supplier information within Sembcorp systems
· Provide customer support in best use of SAP and GEP (Source to Contract tool)
· To solve service and supply problems
Qualification, Skills and Experience
· Good IT Skills
· To be a proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of tools
· To have experience working in a team environment
· The ability to communicate proficiently both orally and written
· A willingness to learn, and a desire to develop and progress
Desirable
Experience of working in a procurement team would be beneficial but not essential.
