The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 € per year.

The purpose of this role would be to carry out planned, preventative and routine maintenance to ensure the smooth running of a range of equipment and machinery on site at SEM. In addition, this role has the responsibility for responding to breakdowns; and carrying out necessary repairs as well as assisting with the installation of new equipment. The role will also cover the building and facilities, working with external contractors to ensure plant and equipment is maintained.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned, preventative maintenance on a full range machine shop and assembly line equipment including PC, PLC and CNC controlled machines.
  • Reacting quickly to faults and breakdowns, communicating clearly with affected parties and working efficiently to fix the issue.
  • Using Root Cause Analysis principles, work to find the underlying cause of faults and support continuous improvement initiatives by learning from breakdowns and provide feedback and suggestions for improvement to the equipment and processes.
  • Carrying out routine servicing and quality inspections on the Machine shop CNC machinery and assembly equipment including PC, PLC controlled machines; refurbishing or ordering and fitting new parts where necessary to ensure that equipment remains in good working order.
  • Collaborating with relevant teams to support with the improvement of site facilities such as but not limited to electrical supplies, airlines, water supply etc.
  • Carrying out installations, modifications, upgrades and repairs on factory infrastructure items such as but not limited to compressed airlines and fittings, electric sockets, lights, network cabling etc.
  • Working to maintain and develop TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), embedding the culture into the organisation and ensuring the approach is supported by appropriate documentation. Maintaining a routine maintenance schedule in accordance with KPI’s and set objectives.
  • Fostering good interdepartmental working relationships, encouraging the exchange of information and sharing of expertise between areas. Liaising with contractors, suppliers and other service providers as and when required.
  • Controlling and safe storage of maintenance tools and equipment in an organised manner (in conjunction with 6S guidelines).
  • Providing guidance and training to team members in order to share knowledge and expertise and support with the development of skills of others.
  • Maintaining technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and benchmarking best-practice.

Our perfect Maintenance Engineer would have:

  • A strong electrical bias with mechanical skills with an understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Experience of working within a similar role in a manufacturing environment with proven exposure to PC, PLC and CNC machinery.
  • Experience of working within facilities maintenance with exposure to HVAC, lighting and compressors as well as general building maintenance.
  • A strong awareness of and full commitment to the adherence of health and safety guidelines.
  • The ability to collaborate and work as part of a team; actively listens to others.
  • The confidence to make decisions; approaches challenges with a positive mind-set.
  • A hands-on, efficient and well organised approach.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills.
  • A proactive, pragmatic and flexible approach with the ability to work to own initiative.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks; is able to reprioritise whilst continuing to manage expectations.
  • The ability to operate and thrive within a fast paced environment whilst working well under pressure.
  • PLC fault finding & diagnostics experience with the ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings & schemes.

Qualifications:

  • Apprenticeship service in Engineering or a City & Guilds qualification in an Engineering related field (or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desirable).

The hours you would work: Monday to Thursday, 7.30am-4.15pm. Friday, 7.30am-12.30pm. Work out of these hours may be required.
