The predicted salary is between 12828 - 12828 £ per year.

Salary: £12,828 (pro rata to the full-time equivalent of £27,792 (2026/26 pay award pending)), plus a 20% night shift enhancement.

Hours: part-time as part of a job share, average of 17.3 hours per week (out of the full-time equivalent of 37.5 hours per week).

Shift Pattern: typically 6 x 12.5 hour shifts in every 30 day period.

Contract Type: Permanent, subject to six months’ probation.

Selwyn is recruiting for a part-time Porter to join our friendly and inclusive College community as part of a job share with an established colleague.

Porters are responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the Porters’ Lodge. This includes acting as first and main point of contact for enquiries from visitors, guests, students, Fellows and staff. Porters are also responsible for the safety and security of College premises and, as Fire Wardens, responding to fire alarms and other emergencies. The Porters’ Lodge is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. Flexibility will be required to work a variety of shift patterns according to the duty roster.

The successful applicant will be a strong team player, customer-focused with a friendly and welcoming manner, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to deal with difficult situations calmly and efficiently.
