Stores Technician (Refurbishment) in Bedford

As a Stores Technician, you'll be responsible for ensuring materials are accurately stored, issued and available to support the refurbishment production.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain accurate stock levels and locations within the stores – Including labelling, part identification, replenishment of consumables.
• Perform the goods inwards process – booking in, put away, quality checks.
• Perform regular cycle counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Support maintenance of minimum stock levels as required, updating system data where applicable.
• Ensure stock movements are correctly recorded in the ERP system.

Picking and Kitting:

• Pick and stage kits accurately in line with released job lists.
• Ensure kits are complete, clearly labelled, and ready for production.
• Escalate shortages or discrepancies to the Production Planner.

Data Accuracy:

• Ensure physical stock matches system data.
• Follow and define standard processes for goods receipt, put-away, and issuing in a dynamic and changing environment.
• Maintain clear and organised storage locations – 5S and lean methodologies would be preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Proven experience in warehouse or stores operations within a structured environment.
• Strong knowledge of inventory handling processes, including cycle counting and stock control.
• Familiarity with ERP systems for inventory tracking and data management.
• Experience executing physical logistics tasks, including goods receipt, storage, and dispatch.
• Ability to perform quality checks and accurately locate parts using system data and documentation.
• Highly reliable with strong attention to detail and commitment to housekeeping and safety standards.
• Effective team player with proactive communication skills.
• Comfortable working in structured, measurable, and target-driven environments.
• Able to perform under pressure while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
