We deliver a bespoke and genuine 24/7, 365 days-a-year service, serving the Water, Environmental and Construction industries.

We are looking for an LGV Driver to join our team in Bedford. You will need to have your Class 2 licence and your HIAB/ALMI qualification. This role has ever-changing priorities, so adaptability and flexibility are essential. A good level of fitness is required to safely load and unload your vehicle. Good communication skills are essential, as you will need to communicate with the hire desk, colleagues, and customers to ensure tasks are completed to a high standard. As part of the role, you will be involved in a call-out rota.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Full understanding of and compliance with digital Tachograph operation and drivers’ hours legislation.
  • Maintain understanding and full compliance with the Working Time Directive for mobile workers, observing all statutory break periods defined under the WTD.
  • Ensure all loading and unloading activity is carried out safely and efficiently, securing loads properly to avoid overloading axles and movement during transit.
  • Be aware of the dates for the scheduled 6-weekly safety inspection timetable and liaise with the Manager and garage to help organise booking the vehicle for inspections.
  • Carry out daily maintenance and defect checks of the vehicle in accordance with the Daily Vehicle Defect Check Report and report any defects promptly to the Manager.
  • Continually monitor the vehicle for any signs of defects developing.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Full LGV driving licence (no more than 6 points).
  • HIAB/ALMI certificate required.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar industry.
  • Over 21 years of age (for insurance purposes).
  • Carry out work in compliance with Department of Transport Regulations and the Highway Code, having regard for personal safety, the safety of the workforce and the general public.
