Overview
Operations Manager to support the Branch Manager at Selwood’s London (Dartford) Branch.
The role focuses on ensuring branch performance meets or exceeds objectives, leading when the Branch Manager is absent, and prioritising health and safety.
Responsibilities
- Proactively promote health and safety by working closely with the Branch Manager, all branch staff and the SHEQ Department to minimise risk of illness, injury and regulatory noncompliance.
- Oversee the daily running of the hire desk office, ensuring effective delivery.
- Collaborate with the Territory Manager & Solution Teams to provide professional service at all times.
- Assist the Branch Manager in achieving planned profits and ROI by controlling plant, operating costs and pricing.
- Work closely with the Workshop Manager/Team to deliver effective maintenance and repairs for all company assets within the branch.
- Regularly review designated area performance with respective managers, customers and other internal departments against KPI measures, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Support the Branch Manager to develop and motivate direct reporting staff, ensuring effective personnel management within the branch.
- Carry out monthly KPI reports for Framework customers, meeting agreed deadlines.
Qualifications
- Experience successfully supervising or leading a team, demonstrating supervisory/leadership skills and the ability to develop, coach, motivate and engage a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen and offer clear, constructive feedback.
- Vision for the business and the wider team, able to adapt and be decisive in a rapid‑pace environment.
- Highly organised with efficient time management and strong prioritisation skills.
- Proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
- IT literacy – ability to analyse data using Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Willingness to travel within the territory and throughout the UK as required.
- Strong understanding of company administration, quality assurance and health, safety and environmental policies.
