We have an exciting new opportunity for a Workshop Electrical Panel Repair to join our team, to support our Liverpool Branch. In this role you will be responsible for completing post and pre-hire assessments on our electrical control panel fleet, including electrical testing, control panel operation checks and providing estimates and repairs as needed.
We’re looking for a hands-on professional with practical experience in electrical control panels and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. This role will be based on-site in our workshop, making it ideal for someone seeking a steady position with no call-out requirements.
As Workshop Electrical Panel Repair, you’ll get to:
- Repair and maintain electrical control panels, including Direct Online Starters, Inverter Drive Starters, and Programmable Logic Control (PLC) panels within the hire fleet, as well as customer units when required.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining high levels of service and meeting customer expectations.
- Use the relevant wiring diagram to fault find down to component level on control circuits.
- Inspect and identify to power board level and replace where necessary; product training will be provided.
- Be familiar with and comply with all necessary Risk Assessment/Method Statements, proactively supporting updates and improvements and helping ensure these are fully documented.
- Be responsible for understanding and adhering to all branch-specific SHEQ standards, procedures, and safe systems of work. You will lead by example, ensuring compliance while on-site and during all work activities, to minimize risks and safeguard yourself and others.
Qualifications & Experience:
- NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installation or Maintenance or an Electrical panel building qualification.
- ESC Gold card in Installation, Maintenance or Panel wiring.
- Proven experience working in control panel building or maintenance with a strong understanding of control panels.
- Demonstrable practical experience of working in a similar role or environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical health and safety regulations, ensuring safe working practices at all times.
- A methodical approach, with the ability to work through a schedule and ensure all checks are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst managing and prioritising own workload.
- Ability and desire to learn with a willingness to adapt to new ways of working.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and across departments, fostering strong relationships to improve processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to present clear and concise reports.
- Motivated, self-driven with a proactive attitude, eager to absorb new information and develop skills.
