Sellick Partnership is proud to be partnering exclusively with a key public sector client based in the West Midlands, to run their search to recruit 3 Finance Business Partners. These are fantastic opportunities for qualified or part-qualified accountants with a background in public sector finance, to join a highly driven finance team with real progression opportunities for the future. These Finance Business Partner opportunities are highly visible roles, reporting to the Director of Group Finance. They work on a hybrid basis - 3 days per week onsite.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring cost improvement/efficiency plans, highlighting risks, and supporting identification of alternative plans where necessary
- Overseeing budgeting processes, and producing monthly management accounts
- Producing quarterly performance review financial statements for operational and strategic financial planning
- Ensuring financial decisions are in line with longer-term strategic aims, and investments continue to drive continuous business improvements
- Financial modelling of business cases, with clear costs and desired financial outcomes approved prior to investment or submission of external bidding
- Provision of clear, concise and actionable financial advice to the business area leadership and executive, to enable informed decision-making
- Ownership of project bid forecasting, ensuring projections have strong commercial rationale, and are activity driven wherever possible
- Lead a diverse team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment
- Producing audit packs and data, and acting as a point of contact for auditors, ensuring efficient audit processes
- Performing detailed variance analyses on costs, margins, and cost centres, collaborating with line managers to address any budget issues, to ensure effective budget management and reporting
- Use of Oracle Fusion ERP, MS Teams, Oracle Project Management, Oracle PBCS
Requirements
- Qualified or part-qualified accountants with a background in public sector finance
- Experience in a finance business partnering role with exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
- Experience with Oracle Fusion ERP, Oracle Project Management, Oracle PBCS, and MS Teams
