We are seeking a skilled and motivated Web Developer to join a major digital programme for a leading public sector organisation based in Manchester. This role offers the opportunity to shape customer-facing technology, improve digital services, and help deliver a modern, user-friendly online experience for residents.
As a Web Developer, you will play a key part in designing, building, and maintaining web-based applications, system integrations, and automation processes that support a large-scale customer experience programme.
Key responsibilities of the Web Developer:
- Develop, configure, and maintain web applications and bespoke integrations
- Ensure code quality through reviews, documentation, and adherence to coding best practices
- Provide technical expertise, advice, and support to internal teams and partners
- Embed cybersecurity considerations into all development work
Required skills and experience of the Web Developer:
- Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent professional qualification)
- 3+ years' experience developing web-based applications and enterprise-level databases
- Proficiency in object-oriented languages (C#, Java, VB.NET) and front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Familiarity with low-code platforms and agile methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on user experience
