We're delighted to be partnering with a forward-thinking local authority to recruit a Procurement Officer to join their high-performing Procurement Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering strategic procurement activity, ensuring compliance, and driving value across a diverse portfolio of services.

The Opportunity

As Procurement Officer, you'll support the end-to-end procurement and contract award process, working closely with commissioners and stakeholders across the organisation. You'll contribute directly to delivering corporate priorities through effective procurement, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements while maximising value for money.

Key Responsibilities of the Procurement Officer

  • Support procurement and tendering exercises from planning through to contract award
  • Ensure all processes comply with Contract Standing Orders and UK procurement legislation
  • Advise stakeholders on procurement routes, frameworks, and best practice
  • Prepare tender documentation, including ITTs and procurement questionnaires
  • Coordinate tender evaluations and support contract award processes
  • Analyse spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve contract compliance
  • Maintain robust audit trails and documentation across all procurement activity
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
