This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical and commercially minded pricing professional to take on a role with real ownership, visibility and influence. The successful candidate will support the continued growth of a specialist insurance product, using data, insight and pricing analysis to inform decision-making and help shape future pricing activity.
Key responsibilities of the Senior Pricing Data Scientist will include:
- Preparing detailed pricing analysis to support senior decision-making
- Reviewing data and producing clear, accurate insight with minimal technical oversight
- Recommending pricing actions based on analysis, trading performance and wider business context
- Interpreting key trends and presenting relevant findings to stakeholders
- Applying commercial judgement when balancing technical accuracy, speed and market conditions
- Prioritising workload based on likely business impact and value
- Working closely with MI and data teams to improve reporting, insight and data availability
- Supporting the development of pricing capability across the product area
Required experience and qualifications of the Senior Pricing Data Scientist will include:
- Experience working within personal lines insurance pricing
- Strong statistical and analytical skills
- Experience using data to identify patterns, trends and commercial opportunities
- A degree in a numerate subject, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques for analysis and production
- Experience using Python and/or SQL would be advantageous
- Household insurance pricing experience would be beneficial
- A pragmatic, curious and solutions-focused approach
- Ability to work at pace while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
