Sellick Partnership is seeking a Senior Commercial Contracts Manager on behalf of a well-established specialist construction sub-contract operating within the life safety and fire protection sector. This is a key in-house commercial role within a growing business, delivering technically complex solutions across domestic construction projects. Based in Hampshire, the organisation offers a close-knit working environment with hybrid working available.
The Senior Commercial Contracts Manager will work closely with both sales and project delivery teams, taking responsibility for reviewing and negotiating subcontract agreements with some of the largest companies in the UK, managing contractual risk, and ensuring robust compliance with payment and notice provisions.
The Senior Commercial Contracts Manager will be responsible for:
- Taking full ownership of the review, negotiation, and administration of all sub-contract documentation, including sub-contract agreements, purchase orders, terms and conditions, and collateral warranties.
- Acting as the commercial risk lead at the pre-contract stage, identifying exposure, challenging onerous clauses, and protecting the business’ position on liability and payment terms.
- Working closely with sales and project teams to provide clear, pragmatic contractual advice throughout the project lifecycle.
- Driving consistent commercial processes, templates, and risk mitigation across domestic construction projects.
Required experience for the Senior Commercial Contracts Manager:
- Experience within a construction contracting or specialist sub-contractor environment.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, including JCT, NEC, and bespoke sub-contract agreements.
- Proven experience reviewing and negotiating sub-contract agreements.
- Strong understanding of payment processes, applications, and contractual notices.
