Sellick Partnership is partnering with a large public sector organisation to recruit a Senior Auditor on a permanent basis.

The responsibilities of the Senior Auditor will be:

  • Delivering a comprehensive internal audit service across a range of local authority functions and external partners
  • Planning and undertaking audit reviews in line with professional standards and agreed audit methodologies
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders to agree audit scope, assess risk, and provide assurance over governance, controls, and compliance
  • Producing clear, evidence-based audit reports with practical recommendations to support service improvement
  • Contributing to audit planning, service development initiatives, and continuous improvement of internal audit processes
  • Providing advisory and assurance support, including responding to emerging risks, whistleblowing matters, and management requests
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of audit, risk, and financial governance developments within local government.

The ideal candidate for the Senior Auditor role will have:

  • Essential experience working within a local government internal audit or assurance environment
  • Proven experience delivering risk-based audits within a complex, regulated organisation
  • Strong working knowledge of audit standards, controls, and governance frameworks relevant to the public sector
  • The ability to manage and deliver complex audit assignments to deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging at senior management level
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce high-quality written reports
  • A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience, with a professional audit or accountancy qualification being highly desirable
  • The flexibility to travel across the county as required.
