Location: Leicestershire

Sellick Partnership are working with a Local Authority in Leicestershire who are seeking an experienced Revenue Accountant to provide specialist support across revenue accounting, financial reporting and external audit. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy finance team supporting key statutory reporting requirements and ensuring the accuracy of the Council's financial records.

The responsibilities of the Revenue Accountant will be:

  • Responding to external audit queries and supporting audit sampling
  • Completing key balance sheet reconciliations
  • Reviewing reconciliations prepared by other accountancy teams
  • Supporting the production of quarterly revenue monitoring reports
  • Leading on the Whole of Government Accounts (WGA) submission
  • Supporting year-end financial reporting activities

The ideal candidate for the Revenue Accountant role will have:

  • Previous Local Government finance experience
  • Strong revenue accounting knowledge
  • Experience supporting external audits
  • Experience preparing or reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Previous involvement in Whole of Government Accounts (WGA)
  • Excellent attention to detail and stakeholder management skills
