Overview

Sellick Partnership is delighted to be partnered with Dover District Council on the recruitment of a Property Lawyer/Solicitor on a permanent, full-time basis.

Due to continued growth, Dover District Council are seeking a Property Lawyer to join their Legal Services team, to provide high-quality legal advice and support to the Council, with a particular emphasis on commercial property.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the Property Lawyer role

  • Complex commercial property freehold acquisitions and disposals, including drafting and negotiating necessary documentation.
  • Dealing with sales of Council property and acquisitions, including drafting and negotiating the necessary documentation.
  • Advising on commercial landlord and tenant issues, including drafting, negotiating and completing leases, licences and such other legal documents as appropriate.
  • Drafting easements, deeds of assignment and deeds of variations.
  • Drafting and advising on wayleaves.
  • Investigating and drafting reports on title of registered and unregistered land.
  • Undertaking legal research and preparing advice on commercial and or residential property matters.
  • Residential property matters, as required.

Required experience

To be considered for this local authority Property Lawyer/Solicitor position within the commercial property space, you will have:

  • A qualification as a Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with current practising certificate.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ post qualified experience in property law.
  • Strong experience handling commercial property matters.
  • Experience within a local authority, public sector, or in-house legal team is advantageous.
