Sellick Partnership are delighted to be supporting a London Borough in the recruitment of a talented Procurement Project Manager to join their dynamic, forward-thinking procurement team. This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a borough that is redefining what local government can achieve - a place committed to radical social change, inclusion and innovation.

About the Council

The council is a borough driven by bold ambition: a place where everyone can thrive, where inequality is challenged, and where public services deliver meaningful, lasting change. The procurement team sits at the heart of this mission, ensuring every contract and supplier relationship contributes to the council's social value, sustainability and community outcomes.

The Role

As Procurement Project Manager, you will lead and deliver complex procurement projects spanning both above-threshold and below-threshold activity. Working with autonomy, you will take projects from initiation through to contract implementation, ensuring high-quality, compliant and value-driven outcomes.

You will provide professional, commercially astute procurement support across a diverse range of categories within the Investment, Place and Opportunity directorate - covering areas such as:

  • Capital investment and built environment consultancy
  • Green spaces, public realm, and transport strategy
  • Culture, environmental services, and grounds maintenance
  • Sustainability, community safety, inclusive economy, and employment support services

The postholder will also support Camden's move toward a procurement self-service model, helping to build capability across the organisation and driving improvements in procurement governance, efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering end-to-end procurement projects, including tenders and negotiations
  • Developing procurement options and advising commissioners and service leads
  • Driving innovation, market engagement and value-for-money outcomes
  • Producing high-quality procurement documentation and ensuring transparent governance
  • Embedding social value, LLW, workforce standards and opportunities for SMEs/VCS partners
  • Enhancing procurement processes and contributing to continuous improvement
  • Supporting service areas to manage contract lifecycles and mid-term negotiations.

What the council Offers

Camden promotes an innovative, flexible and people-centred working culture where performance matters more than presenteeism. Employees benefit from:

  • Genuine hybrid working
  • A highly supportive and inclusive environment
  • Opportunities for professional development and progression
  • The chance to shape procurement that creates meaningful social change.
