Location: Rusholme, Manchester – Hybrid working available.

Duration: 12 weeks with a potential permanent position available.

Hourly rate: £14.31 per hour – £18.62 per hour (depending on payment type).

Must have access to your own vehicle – mileage can be claimed.

Overview

Sellick Partnership Ltd are working with a well-established housing association to assist them with the recruitment of a Housing & Wellbeing Officer who will be responsible for working with customers to promote and maximise their independence, assisting them to move on to greater self-reliance in a supported environment, and into the communities in which they live.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality services aligned with the Independence and Wellbeing framework.
  • Provide effective tenancy management in a safe environment supporting customers to sustain their accommodation, live as independently as possible, and progress towards longer-term housing.
  • Take a person-centred approach, helping customers build on their strengths, achieve their goals, and access appropriate community and support services to maintain their wellbeing.
  • Manage allocations and lettings, work with referral agencies to promote the service, and oversee all aspects of tenancy management (voids, rents, repairs, anti-social behaviour, safeguarding concerns, challenging behaviour, and breaches of occupancy agreements).
  • Have a strong understanding of safeguarding, ensuring risks are identified and managed promptly in line with policies and procedures, and navigate complex situations by engaging relevant support services.

Qualifications & Experience

What the successful Housing & Wellbeing Officer will require:

  • Experience supporting customers with complex needs, using a strengths-based approach to promote independence and positive move-on outcomes.
  • Experience in housing management, supported accommodation, safeguarding, and partnership working is desirable.
  • Resilient, customer-focused, and able to deliver a high standard of service while maintaining accurate records and confidentiality.
  • Strong relationship-building, coaching skills, and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies.
  • Effective ambassador for the service, with good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
