Job Summary

Would you love to be a key player in a project supporting DVSA to make best use of collaboration tools like Teams, SharePoint and Outlook? Can you help people manage information and records with confidence through providing firm, clear guidance and training? Do you fancy leading a small, close‑knit and supportive team? Then this could be the job for you! Join DVSA and help shape how information is managed across the organisation. As part of this role you will support the effective management of information and records throughout their lifecycle, ensuring they are secure, accessible, easy to find and appropriately disposed of when no longer needed. You’ll work with colleagues across a range of business areas, providing advice and support to help them manage information effectively for operational activities and projects. Your work will contribute to improving efficiency, supporting compliance, and enabling better decision‑making across DVSA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage processes to support collaborative working in the Agency’s chosen systems for information and knowledge exchange (MS365 tools including Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive)
  • Provide a good quality records management service for the Traffic Commissioners, liaising closely with the Office of the Traffic Commissioners to understand their needs.
  • Lead and manage a diverse team, supporting their continuing professional and personal development and ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to provide a good quality records management service.
  • Be responsible for wellbeing within the team.
  • Lead involvement in any DVSA projects for records management practices, including writing business cases to seek resources.
  • Identify, record and manage risks relating to records management to support the Senior Information Risk Owner.
  • Lead on the development and maintenance of records management policies and procedure documents.

Person Specification

  • Experience of providing clear guidance to people.
  • Experience of building and managing good quality relationships.
  • Experience of working with collaboration tools (e.g. Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive; Google Workspace).

Working Hours, Office Attendance and Travel Requirements

Full‑time roles consist of 37 hours per week. The successful candidate must be able to work at least 30 hours per week. Occasional travel to other offices will be required, which may involve overnight stays.

Hybrid Working

This role is suitable for hybrid working, which is a non‑contractual arrangement where a combination of workplace and home‑based working can be accommodated subject to business requirements. The expectation at present is a minimum of 60% of working time per month will be spent at either your designated workplace or, when required for business reasons, in another office/work location.

Selection Process

Stage 1: Sift of CV and personal statement. Stage 2: Interview. Successful candidates at each stage will progress to the next. The sift will take place week commencing 3rd August 2026. Interviews will take place week commencing 17th August 2026 and are conducted online via Microsoft Teams.
