A well-established Not for profit organisation in the North East is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join its finance team on a temporary basis for an initial 3-month assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who has gained ideally experience working within a not-for-profit environment to quickly integrate into a busy finance function and provide support across a range of financial activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing and monitoring accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Assisting with budget monitoring and financial reporting
  • Performing bank, balance sheet, and control account reconciliations
  • Supporting month-end and year-end finance processes
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with financial regulations
  • Assisting with grant funding and project expenditure monitoring where required
  • Resolving financial queries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc financial analysis and administrative duties

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ideally previous experience working within a not-for-profit organisation
  • Experience operating within a transactional or management accounting environment
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with a range of stakeholders
