Damp and Mould Surveyor Location - Staffordshire Hybrid working available Permanent position Hours (per week) - 39 Salary - £(phone number removed) per annum Sellick Partnership Ltd are supporting a housing association with the recruitment of an experienced Damp & Mould Surveyor to join their team and help ensure all customers live in a safe, healthy and well-maintained homes. You'll be responsible for carrying out inspections across the housing stock, identifying the causes of damp, mould and condensation, and specifying effective remedial works. You'll work closely with customers, contractors and colleagues to make sure issues are resolved quickly, safely and to a high standard. You'll also play an important role in ensuring they meet the regulatory and legal responsibilities, including Awaab's Law, HHSRS and relevant housing standards. Duties of the Damp and Mould Surveyor Carry out detailed damp, mould and condensation inspections, identifying root causes and appropriate solutions. Diagnose defects and produce clear specifications and schedules of work, using M3/NHF rates where appropriate. Oversee contractors and monitor works to ensure they are completed safely, on time, to the required standard and within budget. Carry out pre, during and post-work inspections to ensure remedial works have been completed effectively. Ensure damp and mould cases are managed in line with Awaab's Law, HHSRS, legislation and Ombudsman recommendations. Keep customers informed and involved throughout the process, providing a professional and customer-focused service. Identify and escalate health, safety, safeguarding and compliance concerns. Maintain accurate records and property information on our systems. Work closely with Repairs, Asset Management, Compliance, Contractors and other teams to resolve issues efficiently. Support complaints, disrepair cases and legal enquiries where required. Help identify opportunities to improve our approach to damp and mould and deliver a right-first-time service. Contribute to value for money, performance and customer satisfaction.About you We're looking for someone with strong experience in damp, mould and condensation within housing, with the technical knowledge and confidence to identify defects and specify appropriate remedial works. You'll be able to manage contractors, interpret relevant legislation and standards, and communicate effectively with customers who may be experiencing significant issues in their home. You'll be organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on customer safety, quality and compliance. Knowledge of HHSRS, Awaab's Law, housing disrepair, building pathology and social housing repairs would be highly beneficial.
