We are recruiting a Non-Contentious Construction Managing Associate / Legal Director (5+ PQE) to join a high-performing Construction & Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a strategic role advising on major infrastructure, energy, and real estate development projects, while leading client relationships, supervising junior lawyers, and contributing to the growth of the team.
About the Team
The team advises across a range of sectors, including:
- Real estate development (commercial, residential, mixed-use)
- Transport and infrastructure
- Energy, utilities, and renewables
- Public sector and social infrastructure
The team supports developers, funders, contractors, consultants, and public bodies, providing advice from procurement through to project completion.
What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Advise on non-contentious construction matters, including procurement strategies, contract drafting, and project structuring
- Draft, negotiate and review a range of construction documents including JCT and NEC contracts, appointments, collateral warranties, and bespoke agreements
- Lead on high-value construction and infrastructure transactions
- Manage and develop key client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor
- Collaborate with colleagues across real estate, finance, corporate and regulatory teams
- Mentor and supervise junior lawyers, contributing to a positive and supportive team culture
- Play an active role in business development, knowledge sharing, and innovation
- Engage with structured training and leadership development programs
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years' PQE with strong experience in non-contentious construction law
- Solid technical knowledge of standard form and bespoke construction contracts
- Experience advising on major development or infrastructure projects
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and client-facing skills
- Commercial awareness and ability to provide pragmatic, solution-led advice
- Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple matters
- A collaborative mindset with experience mentoring and leading others
