A leading UK organisation is seeking an experienced Integration Solution Architect to join its technology team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled architect with strong enterprise integration experience to play a key role in designing, governing and delivering scalable, secure, and resilient integration solutions across a complex technology landscape.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, application teams, data specialists, infrastructure teams and delivery partners to define integration strategies, establish best practices, and deliver robust solutions that support critical business operations.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver end-to-end integration architectures across applications, data platforms, and external partners.
- Collaborate with application, integration, data and infrastructure teams to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles and standards.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Lead architecture workshops, discovery sessions and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Produce high-quality architecture documentation, roadmaps and design artefacts.
- Define and promote reusable integration patterns, standards and governance frameworks.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, security and operational support requirements.
- Participate in architecture review boards and governance forums.
- Identify risks, dependencies and opportunities throughout project lifecycles.
- Provide architectural guidance to delivery teams throughout implementation.
- Integration Platforms
- Strong experience with one or more of the following:
- IBM API Connect (APIC)
- MuleSoft Anypoint Platform
- Axway API Management
- Proven experience designing and implementing:
- API-led architectures
- Event-driven architectures (EDA)
- Publish/subscribe and message-based integrations
- Request/response and orchestration patterns
- Hybrid integration solutions spanning cloud and on-premise environments
- Reusable, loosely coupled and scalable integration frameworks
- API security (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT)
- API versioning and governance
- API gateways and developer portals
- Strong understanding of:
- Batch processing and bulk data movement
- Secure file transfer technologies (SFTP, FTPS, Managed File Transfer)
- Structured file formats including CSV, XML and JSON
- Data mapping and transformation
- Canonical data models
- Data governance and quality considerations
- Knowledge of:
- Version control and release management
- Integration testing approaches and end-to-end testing methodologies
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to facilitate technical and business workshops
- Excellent documentation and architecture modelling capabilities
- Strong understanding of security, privacy and compliance considerations
- Experience working within enterprise governance frameworks
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
