A Strategic Finance Opportunity
We are delighted to be partnering with a large and progressive public sector organisation to recruit a Principal Accountant into its Corporate Finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional looking to take on a strategic role within a complex and dynamic environment. You will play a key role in supporting senior leadership, contributing to financial planning and decision-making, and ensuring the delivery of a high‑quality finance service.

The Role
- Provide expert financial advice and support to senior managers and stakeholders.
- Lead on budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and statutory reporting activities.
- Deliver high‑quality financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision‑making.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, legislation and financial regulations.
- Support the development and implementation of financial strategies and policies.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement, efficiency and innovation.
- Develop effective relationships across the organisation and act as a trusted financial adviser.
- Support, mentor and develop members of the finance team.
About You
- A recognised professional accountancy qualification (CCAB or equivalent).
- Significant experience within a complex finance environment.
- Strong technical accounting and financial management skills.
- Experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- The ability to communicate complex financial information to non‑financial audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement.Experience within the public sector or local government would be advantageous but is not essential.
