Exciting opportunity to join a successful in-house local authority legal team! Sellick Partnership have partnered with our Local Authority client in the recruitment of an experienced regulatory lawyer. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated lawyer to join the wider litigation team.
Responsibilities
- Dealing with a broad range of cases including planning enforcement
- Trading standards
- Health and safety
- Conducting advocacy in the Magistrates' and County courts

This role is primarily a home-working role, with occasional attendance at the office to carry out specific tasks such as attending meetings/training and court hearings as required. Requests for part-time hours will be considered.
Person specification
You will need to be a confident court advocate, experienced in dealing with a broad range of matters. Ideally, have knowledge and experience in handling a caseload of contentious regulatory matters, including criminal law and will be required to provide comprehensive advice to council departments covering a wide spectrum of public services. Local Authority experience is desirable but not essential. Experience gained from the private sector from a criminal defence perspective will also be considered.
