Sellick Partnership are working with a Local Authority in Leicestershire who are seeking an experienced Revenue Accountant to provide specialist support across revenue accounting, financial reporting and external audit. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy finance team supporting key statutory reporting requirements and ensuring the accuracy of the Council's financial records.
The responsibilities of the Revenue Accountant will be:
- Responding to external audit queries and supporting audit sampling
- Completing key balance sheet reconciliations
- Reviewing reconciliations prepared by other accountancy teams
- Supporting the production of quarterly revenue monitoring reports
- Leading on the Whole of Government Accounts (WGA) submission
- Supporting year-end financial reporting activities
The ideal candidate for the Revenue Accountant role will have:
- Previous Local Government finance experience
- Strong revenue accounting knowledge
- Experience supporting external audits
- Experience preparing or reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
